市場未來供需情況

台灣經濟研究所於2007年提出健康器材產業之未來發展趨勢,預測運動人口將穩定成長,隨著許多國家國民所得不斷提高,且對休閒生活及身體健康越加重視,而使健身活動需求漸增,未來運動人口將持續擴增,預測未來市場規模將可維持5%左右的成長。

根據國際貨幣基金(IMF)預估,2011年全球涇濟將較2010年下降至4.0%,其中,本產業主要出口市埸美國、歐元區等已開發國家經濟將分別成長1.5%及1.6%,而對運動用品產業需求成長快速之中國及印度經濟成長率也有9.5%及7.8%,此外,2012年預估金球經濟成長將維持4.0%,其中,美國、歐元區、中國及印度經濟成長率達1.8%、1.1%、9.0%及7.5%,由以上數據可知,2011及2012年國內外經濟將呈現放緩態勢,此將影響民眾對運動用品之消費。

全球健身器材市揚主要集中在美國,約佔全球市揚逾六成以上。在需求方面,根據美國健身器材製造商協會統計,2010年全美健身器材市場規模達43.4億美元,其中家用件場成長3.98%,商用件場成長4.37%。美國開始邁入老年的嬰兒潮世代,這些經驗豐富且智慧成熟之消費群不惜花錢購買價格較高且設計較優之新產品,其較重視功能性與安全性,基於健康養護的需求增加,低負荷健康運動需要的健身器發展可期。此外,性別因素亦為引領消費趨勢力量之一,女性參與健身活動比母性積極的多,近幾年來女性運動員的優異表現,更助長女性使用心肺復甦健身機的風潮,因此,預期隨者美國經濟體濟回穩,消費者消費能力提升,未來美國市埸將會繼續穩定的成長。

Market supply and demand

In 2007, Taiwan Institute of Economic Research released a report on the fitness equipment industry. The report forecasted a steady growth of the sporting population in the years ahead. At the time many countries’ GNP continues to grow and fitness is becoming more and more important, the sporting population will continue to grow for the future and the fitness equipment market is expected to grow 5% or so in the years to come.

According to the forecast released by International Monetary Fund (IMF), 2011 worldwide economy is expected to grow 4.0%, much lower than 2010. The United States and Euro Dollar District, the major exporting market of fitness equipment, will see their economies grow 1.5% and 1.6%, respectively. China and India, with their growing demands for sporting goods, will see their economies grow 9.5% and 7.8%, respectively. 2012 worldwide economy is expected to grow 4.0% – 1.8% growth in the United States, 1.1% growth in Euro Dollar District, 9.0% growth in China, and 7.5% growth in India. The report indicated that, with the abovementioned statistics, the worldwide economy will remain sluggish in 2011 and 2012. Faced with the sluggish economy, the general public will reduce their spending in the sporting goods.

The United States is the world’s major fitness equipment market, representing more than 60% of the worldwide market. According to the statistics released by the United States Fitness Equipment Manufacturer Association, the United States’ 2010 fitness equipment market size amounted to USD 4.34 billion in which the household market grew 3.98% and commercial market grew 4.37%, respectively. Now, the baby boomers are turning into senior citizens. They can afford the expensive and well-designed sporting goods with particular emphasis on the performance and safety of the fitness equipment. With the growing concern about health, the low-burden fitness equipment is expected to become more and more popular as time passes by. Furthermore, most females take part in the fitness activities regularly, more aggressively than the males. In recent years, the outstanding achievements made by many female athletes have inspired more and more females to upgrade their physical conditions using CPR fitness machines. As soon as the United States economy picks up, consumers will begin to purchase fitness equipment once again. Therefore, the United States market is expected to grow in the years ahead.
